Lizzie
One of the funniest little rescues on
the planet! Lizzie was a youngster, out of control (understatement) and wound up
like a top! She came to live with Boulder, Mr. Calm, Laid-Back and personable.
Ha!It took some time and lots of consistent behavior on the part of the current
Rescue Chair (the owner) to make sure that Lizzie really knew she would ALWAYS
be loved, no matter how fast she twirled!
Simon Henry Haines
Our lively mischievous little Vizsla Simon Henry Haines came into our lives just over 3 months ago. After losing our dear sweet Ruby, who was another rescued Vizsla, in November, we decided to adopt again. Simon charged into our lives with exuberant energy and he definitely keeps us and our cat Lily hopping. Simon is extremely bright and definitely a handful. He is sweet and cuddly, fearless, headstrong and velvety soft. He completed his puppy class and now has begun his obedience class. I love to photograph him and he loves to be the center of attention so we are a match made in heaven! My husband Steve and I are so glad to be able to give a home to Simon and hope to adopt a playmate for him in the future. Thank you to all the people of the Vizsla Rescue who volunteer their time to help these dogs in need. Stacey & Steve Haines, Greensboro, NC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Subby
2007 brought a most-handsome, very large, 16.5 month old Vizsla boy into the program. His owner, a wonderful National Guardswoman found her unit "called up" and had to make the gut-wrenching decision to turn Subby over to rescue. (isn't he a gorgeous boy). He is now in his new FOREVER HOME, sleeping with the youngsters & starting obedience class. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Diego
Thank you Barbara Yeatman and Vizsla Rescue! Diego and I are doing great! With
each passing day, it seems Diego becomes more and more the perfect companion. He
is intelligent, full of boundless energy, loves people, and thoroughly enjoys
regular romps with other dogs.
As you can see, I think Diego is
incredible and I believe he is enjoying his forever home. His former owners did
some marvelous work with him at a young age that truly paid dividends. I'm
thankful for them. I think his solid, loving foundation has helped him to become
the marvelous dog he is today. He is a well adjusted, well behaved (although
occasionally he earns the nickname "El Diablo"... heh heh), and a perfect
companion. Thank you V-rescue! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Geni
Geni, the 9 year-old , has come a long way; the white face belies the energy in this little bundle of Vizsla! (she is a red rocket with a white face). She has melded into her foster family, "runs with the big dogs" outside, lounges in HER chair (covered with her "binkie" of course), has a great appetite (even learned to like carrots), has decided that inside the fence is really where home is. Thank you to VCC Rescue Coordinator Barbara Yeatman for permanently adopting Geni after fostering her & searching for just the right home for a very long time now. I think Geni would agree, she's very happy to be staying with Barbara! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zoey
Then there's Zoey. She didn't have a name until last week (that we knew of anyway). This is the dog that was picked up by the vet tech; she was running along a busy highway in Western NC. Now she’s a very happy and lucky girl, I might add. We had a family, the Mendats , who were looking for a female (and funny, all the dogs coming into rescue or soon to come in are males, anyone have any ideas why?). Zoey is being treated for heartworm; she has moved into her new home with an aging Springer and is a very happy camper indeed! I love it when a plan comes together! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Cooper
Cooper, our big "pound puppy", has found his forever home with the Rogers of Florence, SC. What a big sweet baby who is being spoiled rotten in his new abode! __________________________________________________________________________ Jack Jack is one fortunate boy! Not always easy for Rescue
to find home for older dogs, we thankfully got a call from a couple up in VA who
had recently lost their Vizsla and was ready to welcome a V in need into their
home. Jack is settling in nicely, sleeping in the middle of their large king
size bed! He is incredibly beautiful! He has filled out and is the picture of
health. He still wants to eat everything in the house, including my shoes.
There is an old pair of slipons I keep in the sunroom on a low shelf behind a
scarf, and he kept getting one of them out and chewing on it. We punished him
about 3 times (that means telling him BAD DOG and showing him shoe and telling
him NO, NO, NO!!) Well, again last night, he went out and got the same shoe,
but this time came prancing in to me so proud with his head held high and gave
me the shoe! So, was he saying "Here, Mommy, see - I didn't chew on it this
time!"? So, I gave up and put them away in a closet. He is so funny! ![]() Mia -- formerly Lady -- has the most wonderful home ever. She is the V who came back into rescue after her former adoptive family could no longer care for her. Mia goes to work with her human, is the life of the party everywhere she goes, and best of all, hogs the bed. She plays frisbee, and goes for long walks & runs. She's the queen! Mia must have guardian angels, to have found such a loving home with Dan, Theresa & Ruby (the not-so-amused-by-this-big-red-thing) cat. Juli Juli's former owner was sent overseas, and he did not want to put her through quarantine. A loving family in Cornelius, NC was looking for a playmate for their male Vizsla ~ Juli moved in, and now the two are inseparable!
Barney came to us when he was four months old,
rescued from a family who for the most part left him in the garage
without food,
Misha came into rescue as the result of a divorce. Misha has a double family including a Red Dog playmate. Misha's new family brought Austin, their Vizsla, along when they went to meet Misha for the first time. There was an immediate bond between the two 'red heads', and the deal was sealed! The family's adult daughter lives only 10 minutes away, thus the 2nd household. What a butter vat this girl has fallen into ~ and she gets to sleep in the bed no less!
