Linda Timmerman from Inman, SC was our judge - her commentary:

At the Piedmont/Columbia Kennel Club shows in Charlotte, I once again had the pleasure of judging a match for the Vizsla Club of the Carolinas.  What a wonderful bunch of V's lovers, they are!

The entry was small, and most of the handlers as well as the dogs, were relatively new to showing. Because of this, I decided to improvise somewhat.  Not only did we work the dogs several times, I also tried to give the handlers some tips along the way.  I think everyone learned how effective proper use of bait can be in the ring and hopefully the dogs and handlers felt a lot more at ease when we finished. I had two very nice young puppies and a ring full of young adult bitches. All of the entries in the open bitch class were fairly new to the show ring or were working on specific problems which made my decision a bit difficult.

This was especially true after we had worked on their problems and gaited several times and worked on standing for examination. My final decision, because the class was pretty equal in quality, was based on personal preference and the beautiful condition of the entrant; I liked her type. It turns out the handler had NEVER been in the ring before! I had a terrific time and I sincerely hope the handlers did as well.
